RESTRICTED SPIRIT
Restricted Spirit uses car seat belts to embody self-restraint, self-doubt, and the quiet tension of living inside a cage of your own making

RESTRICTED SPIRIT
Process//.inspiration
Restricted Spirit explores the invisible boundaries that shape our sense of freedom — the self-imposed limitations, quiet doubts, and internalized fears that restrain us more tightly than any external force. Constructed entirely from recycled materials, the piece transforms objects originally designed for control and safety into expressive tools of personal reflection.
Seatbelts — symbols of restraint — are reworked into a sculpted bodice and skirt, their industrial texture contrasting against the vulnerability of exposed skin. Over-knee boots made from the same reclaimed materials extend the theme, grounding the silhouette with weight and intention.
The wire coat, with its raw, almost architectural structure, wraps around the body like a physical manifestation of mental confinement. The open, irregular network of loops and connections suggests both entrapment and the possibility of escape — a reminder that the walls we build in our minds are never fully solid.
Set against a vivid red backdrop, the look becomes even more charged: bold, intense, unapologetically present.
Restricted Spirit is not about surrendering to constraint, but confronting it — acknowledging the barriers we create for ourselves, and recognizing the power it takes to dismantle them
